THE HEALING HEM

"Thy faith hath made thee whole." Oh, blessed words!
How clearly I recall the Master's look
and how he asked, '"Who touched me?"

Twelve years I suffered, and I sought in vain
for healing everywhere: for though I spent
my all, still I grew worse. All hope then fled,
and I was left despondent, helpless, poor.

One day I heard commotion. I beheld
a multitude, and in the midst was Jesus
ministering unto the needy ones.
What joy was mine! Fresh faith now stirred within!
I would be healed, if I but went to him;
and soon I stood behind the pressing throng
of sufferers, all striving to be heard.
"So dire their need," I sighed. "Enough for me
if I but touch his clothes, I shall be whole."
And so it was.
