Christian Science found me when...

Christian Science found me when I was suffering from what the doctor termed a dropping of the stomach. He prescribed that I wear a brace to hold the stomach in place. I felt continually weak, and one fourth of the family income was required to buy my medicines.

One day while I was in despair at having so little strength, a co-worker in my office told me that her religion, Christian Science, teaches that man's obedience to God gives him strength. I thank God that this student of Christian Science recognized the right moment to speak a timely word to me in regard to my asking for Christian Science help.

At her recommendation I visited a practitioner, who spoke to me of our loving Father-Mother God and advised me to read the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, starting from the very first page and continuing straight through. As I read this wonderful textbook the thought came to me that if what it said was true, then I did not need the glasses I was wearing. I took them off and laid them aside, and I have never since had them on. I also discarded the stomach brace and all of my medicine.
