My introduction to Christian Science...

My introduction to Christian Science came thirty-four years ago when I walked into a Christian Science Reading Room to rest. There were others in the Reading Room, all studying quietly; so I began to read the nearest thing at hand, which proved to be the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. It answered questions I had puzzled over all my life, and I have continued to study this textbook and the other authorized literature ever since. Periods of sickness ceased, and I have not lost a day from work since. The enslaving habits of smoking and drinking were overcome. Worry, anger, selfishness, and other wrong thoughts yielded to right thinking.

I should like to mention another of my healings. Over a period of many years I had received much dental attention. Once I found myself at a place where no dentist was available. As my teeth were giving me trouble, I chose my food with care and confined my eating to one side of my mouth.

One day the thought came as clearly as though it had been spoken, Leave all this dental problem to divine Mind. Without hesitation I obeyed, putting aside all concern over my teeth. Very soon I realized with joy that the trouble was over. No dental attention has been required since, and I eat any food that I desire. Mrs. Eddy writes (Science and Health, p. 62), "The divine Mind, which forms the bud and blossom, will care for the human body, even as it clothes the lily; but let no mortal interfere with God's government by thrusting in the laws of erring, human concepts."
