When I came into Christian Science...

When I came into Christian Science I was ailing with a nervous disorder. In addition I had been afflicted with asthma since childhood, and the doctors had said that I had such bad lungs that they could not be healed. The lung condition had persisted for more than twenty years.

On hearing of Christian Science I visited a practitioner and told her that I had a nervous difficulty and that doctors here and abroad had said that I could never be healed of asthma. "Do you think I can be healed?" I asked. "Definitely," she replied. "It sounds too good to be true," I said, but I promised to cooperate with her in every way. Soon I was completely healed.

I immediately enrolled my children in the Christian Science Sunday School and began to solve my problems through the application of Christian Science. Many healings of the children took place, and protection was demonstrated in many instances at home and at business. However, there was much opposition from my family, especially my mother, which caused estrangement between us for a while. Her belief was that I had left God, whereas I was learning to understand and love Him more.
