I have received so much encouragement from the many testimonies which I have read in the Christian Science periodicals and heard at the Wednesday testimony meetings that I should like to share this encouragement with others. Thirty-three years ago I received from one who had taken up the study of this Science a copy of The Herald of Christian Science (German Edition). In studying this periodical I found so much that was reasonable and logical that I knew it was the truth I had been seeking.

The very next day I had my first proof of the healing power inherent in Christian Science. For many years I had never known my mother to be free from varicose veins, which often developed into ulcers. Everything the doctor directed had been done, but to no avail. Her legs were continually swollen, and every day they had to be bandaged. On the day following my reading the Herald she was suffering from an ulcer on the ankle. I took it upon myself to speak with her about the ever-present Christ, Truth, and its healing power. I was conscious of the perfection of God's creation and put out of thought any suggestion of discordant symptoms.

My mother agreed with what I told her of the truth and remarked, "Tonight I shall not put on the bandages." I went to my room and worked in Christian Science to the best of my understanding. The following morning my mother declared with tears of joy that she no longer had any sore or any swelling. She was completely healed.
