HELPING ONE ANOTHER
[Of Special Interest to Children]
Bruce is in the first grade of elementary school. Here he learns to count, write, draw, read, and play games. He enjoys his days in school with his playmates.
Bruce also attends a Christian Science Sunday School. Here he learns that God is Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love —the seven synonyms given by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." Bruce goes happily to Sunday School to hear the Bible stories and to learn the Commandments and the Beatitudes. He also learns how to use the Golden Rule.
One day Bruce's mother was downtown shopping, and since it was almost time for school to close she stopped and picked him up so they could drive home together. When she and Bruce were settled in the car, he told her of something that had happened in school. Another boy, George, had a very bad toothache. The teacher said that he might stay in during recess. As the class was leaving the room, the teacher asked if someone would stay to keep George company. At once Bruce offered to stay.
