With a deep sense of gratitude...
With a deep sense of gratitude for the many blessings that I have received through the study and application of Christian Science I give this testimony. My first healing through Christian Science was an instantaneous one of a severe case of blood poisoning. It occurred when I was a child. A member of the family who was interested in Christian Science recommended that a practitioner be asked for help. Only one treatment was given, and the condition cleared up immediately. This healing was a clear proof that God heals disease.
While attending a university I became suddenly ill the day before an examination was to be taken. In talking to the practitioner who was helping me I expressed fear that I should not be able to go class the following day. Her answer was: "Tomorrow has not come. You will be given strength to be in your right place at the right time." I took the test the next day, feeling entirely well and aware of the power of the Word, which is always at hand to help us in time of need. I have had other proofs of the power of divine Love in the healing of pneumonia, ptomaine poisoning, and minor ills.
It is with much gratitude that I think of the authorized periodicals, the Reading Rooms, the lectures, and the practitioners, who are always ready to help those in need. My membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, in which I have been privileged to serve in various ways, has meant much to me. Class instruction from a spiritually-minded teacher has helped me to learn to love God and my fellow man more. I am indeed grateful that our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, was inspired to give us the truths of Christian Science, which are blessing the whole world.—(Miss) Gertrude A. Richards, Herald Harbor, Maryland.
