"MY WORD ... GOETH FORTH"

Isaiah 55:11

Compassionate and tender, yet with power,
The saving Christ, in secret, speaks the Word
When fainting hope has reached its midnight hour.
Above the senses' din the call is heard:
"Gird on the sword of Spirit, child of light!"
Can aught express the grateful thoughts which flow
Through quiet moments when the healing might
Of Truth, alone, stills pain and fear, or know
The heart's release when sorrow's strife is won?
By Spirit's alchemy the unreal dross
Is purged, revealing the beloved Son.
Thus are we led to lift and bear the cross.
O Word of God, how kind thy ministry—
Yet how dynamic thy activity!
