Signs of the Times

Donald B. Blackstone in the Daily Call, Piqua, Ohio

The Christian life is infinitely more than a plan of action, a series of performances, or a collection of good deeds. It is primarily a way of thinking about persons and things, about oneself and others, and about life and God. Without a peculiarly Christian way of thinking, Christian living, in any full sense, is impossible.

That, I take it, is what the Apostle Paul had in mind when he said to the Philippians, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus."... Acquire his mind and spirit.... Do it so sincerely and well that men may feel and sense in your presence, in some measure, what they sensed and felt in his presence.
