LETTERS TO THE PRESS FROM CHRISTIAN SCIENCE COMMITTEES ON PUBLICATION

Nieuwe Rotterdamse Courant

In [a late 1952] issue you published a review . . . [of a book]. One of the figures described in the book is Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. The picture which [the author] has formed of this remarkable woman, however fascinating and great of stature it may be, is extremely onesided and exaggerated in an unfavorable sense. . . .

Mary Baker Eddy has given to our age the Science of Christian healing. Only those who have put this Science into practice and have experienced its blessings can fully understand Mrs. Eddy's significance, although one finds among outsiders also a growing appreciation of what she has accomplished. Anyone who is interested in this remarkable and very active life is advised to consult the authorized biographies which may be found in every Christian Science Reading Room and in most public libraries.
