I was led to Christian Science through seeing an advertisement of a Christian Science lecture. Just beside this advertisement was another one telling of a lecture on nerves by a specialist in that subject. I felt that I already knew about nerves, as I was suffering from a severe nervous condition; so I was inclined to attend the lecture on Christian Science. On mentioning this to a neighbor, I was interested to find that she was a student of this Science. She said she was going to the lecture and would be pleased to take me.

I shall never forget the peace that came to me at that lecture. It stayed with me for many weeks. During this time I naturally sought to be freed from the nervous condition, but I realized that my thought had to be lifted spiritually. The healing was accomplished one day as I was repeating the Lord's Prayer. When I came to the words (Matt. 6:13), "Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever," I thought: Why, of course. Why should I ever doubt a loving Father?

As I sat there with a new sense of childlike trust, a tremor went through my body. I was healed in that moment, and the condition never returned.
