Because of severe arthritis in my shoulder I suffered great pain as well as disuse of my left arm. Treatment was requested of a Christian Science practitioner, and every day she helped me to fill my thought with Life, Truth, and Love. Gradually I came to see the falsity of burdening responsibilities and of the belief that man lives in matter. When I realized that I had no burden to carry on my shoulders and that all I had to do was to reflect God, my healing came. I learned, that to reflect God is a fulltime duty, but a joyous one.

During this period the practitioner would place my hands on the piano and assure me that I could play. She dwelt particularly on gratitude, encouraging me to sing Hymns No. 3 and 207 (Christian Science Hymnal). Remembering Christ Jesus' words (Matt. 11:30), "My yoke is easy, and my burden is light," I am sure I shall never feel heavily burdened again.

Mrs. Eddy's words (Science and Health, p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need," remind me that my own needs are met daily in many ways. The authorized literature, branch church activities, the Reading Room, and loving practitioners are great blessings.
