LETTERS TO THE PRESS FROM CHRISTIAN SCIENCE COMMITTEES ON PUBLICATION

Placer Herald

Auburn, California Placer Herald

While I appreciated the friendly and tolerant attitude expressed by [a correspondent] in a letter printed ...in your paper, one statement in her letter could give your readers a very wrong impression in regard to Christian Science.

[The correspondent] spoke of a personal experience where she contracted scarlet fever from a Christian Scientist who she said had refused to obey a doctor's order of quarantine. That anything of the kind could have occurred is regrettable, for it is entirely contrary to the teachings of Christian Science.
