I have experienced many blessings...

I have experienced many blessings through the study and application of Christian Science, including physical healings. An outstanding healing was of a serious difficulty which was uncovered in the course of a physical examination I was obliged to take in connection with my employment. A dislocated arm, sore throats, grief, self-pity, and other errors have been healed.

I learned the much-needed lesson of obedience to the law of God through my study of the Bible and the writings of Mrs. Eddy. A statement on page 117 of her book "Miscellaneous Writings" that stood out to me early in my study of Christian Science is: "Obedience is the offspring of Love; and Love is the Principle of unity, the basis of all right thinking and acting; it fulfils the law. We see eye to eye and know as we are known, reciprocate kindness and work wisely, in proportion as we love."

Some time ago I had an opportunity to prove the value of the above statement. Protracted unemployment, as well as failure to find a position in the line of business in which I was experienced, was a testing time for me. When it seemed that I had reached the breaking point I was given, through an advertisement in The Christian Science Monitor, the opportunity to purchase a small business. It was, however, one in which I had had no experience. A quick decision had to be made, and I realized that if the business failed I might be left penniless.

I reasoned that the opportunity had come as a result of prayer and that trustful obedience on my part would show me the operation of God's law in this undertaking. Then I came upon a verse in Psalms which reads (27:1) "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" All fear left me, and the decision to accept the offer was made. In three days I was launched in a new business career, and it is proving to be a joyous experience.

For church membership, the Christian Science Reading Rooms, our periodicals, the practitioners, and class instruction from a consecrated teacher, I am most grateful. —(Miss) Aimee Spitzer, Boston, Massachusetts.
