At one time, before I knew of Christian Science, a boil appeared on my arm. Poultices were applied, but the difficulty increased, and sleepless nights ensued. I then went to a doctor, who lanced the arm. Weeks later it healed, leaving a scar. I was told that I narrowly escaped having a stiff arm for the rest of my life because the boil was so close to the elbow.

Several years later, after I had taken up the study of Christian Science, a boil appeared on my face. This time I went to a practitioner for help. The mortal mind picture was even more alarming than before, because the boil was very close to my temple and eye. However, although young in Science, I was willing to trust God and was not fearful. About a week later, when the pain was intense and while my mother was reading to me from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the boil discharged, and the wound healed quickly, without leaving any scar.

Since that time I have depended entirely on Christian Science for help. I have been healed of a growth in one nostril; of difficulty in breathing; of a back injury; of constipation, from which I had suffered since early childhood; of fear; and of periods of mental depression. For all these healings I am inexpressibly grateful.
