About two years ago as the result of a fall I badly injured my right arm and elbow. I remembered a similar experience of a dear friend years before and that he had been healed through realizing the truth of the following statement from the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 423): "Bones have only the substance of thought which forms them."

The shock after the fall was such that I lay quite still for a few moments. Finally I was able to get up and reach the couch in the living room, It seemed as if a bone in the arm had been pushed up into the shoulder. The practitioner was out when I called, and I continued to take my stand for the truth. A friend came over and prepared the dinner for me; and when my husband came home, they helped me get to bed. By the time I talked with the practitioner later, the swelling had started to subside, but the arm was useless.

The second night, while reading the chapter entitled "Atonement and Eucharist" in Science and Health, I suddenly felt the bone slip gently back into place. I called to my husband to come, exclaiming that a wonderful thing had happened. That same week I was able to take a seven-hour journey. I was completely healed of the effects of the accident within two months, greatly astonishing some friends who were not Christian Scientists.
