LOOK UP

Because I walked with lowered gaze
Intent upon the ground.
I failed to see the Light that glowed
In beauty all around.

I stooped within the sepulcher
Where mortal hopes were laid;
I looked upon the barren stone,
Grief-stricken and afraid.

Until the Christ, the living Truth,
Commanded me, "Arise!"
And looking up, I saw the dawn
Grow bright across the skies.

The shades of error fled away;
My eyes were then unsealed.
Beholding glory and God's love
In Christ, His Son, revealed.
