I have received much good through reading the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals, and I sincerely hope that mine will be of help to others.

I had at first a strong prejudice against Christian Science. I needed help, however, and finally came to the place where I was willing to ask humbly for it. First, some eleven years ago, with the aid of a practitioner, I was healed of a longstanding case of stomach trouble. With this proof, I more willingly sought help for relief from other troubles, such as financial lack, in-decisiveness, mental depression, and constipation, and in all these troubles relief was immediately felt.

Later, while working in a foreign country under the jurisdiction of the medical department of the United States Army Engineers, I developed an abscess. Against my will, but because of rules and regulations, I accepted treatment, followed directions, and met requirements; however, at the end of six months' treatment the abscess was not healed. My contract was completed, and since I was preparing for my trip home, the head doctor informed me that he did not wish to frighten me, but that he would advise me to get back to the United States as soon as possible and go to some good hospital for immediate radium treatment. I replied in effect that since I was not in harmony with medical treatment, but believed in Christian Science, I would have treatment from a Christian Science practitioner.
