It is with deep gratitude that I testify to the healing efficacy and joy-giving power of Christian Science. Through training in the Christian Science Sunday School, the study of this Science, and participation in its activities I have gained new views of God and of His perfect spiritual universe and man. The spiritual understanding thus gained has met the needs of others as well as my own, for which I am most thankful.
I should like to tell of some healings which have served as stepping-stones in my experience. At the beginning of my senior year in college I found myself suddenly unable to continue in a heavy schedule of schoolwork. Strength and the desire to complete my course seemed to leave me, with the result that I just wanted to go home and forget everything. A practitioner was called, and within twenty-four hours I was entirely free. As a result I was able to complete a double course in musical composition, which my professors had said would be impossible to do in a single year. I also received straight A's for my last term of study.
Earlier in my college work, orchestra rehearsals, which my scholarship required me to attend, and meetings of the Christian Science Organization at the university were being held at the same time. I felt it was right for me to attend the organization meetings; so I took my stand for Truth, though I was required to give up my scholarship for two school terms. At the end of this time a new orchestra was formed with a different rehearsal time, which allowed me to attend both functions and receive my scholarship. When I reapplied for the scholarship, which I understood would be for one term, I was given the entire yearly amount. Surely, as we seek "first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, ... all these things shall be added" (Matt. 6:33).
