I have never known any religion but Christian Science, and I am very grateful for the many blessings and healings that have come to me through my study and application of this Science.

While I was on my vacation several years ago, I awakened one morning to find that one of my eyes was discolored. I studied the Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly that morning and went about my business, paying little attention to the inharmonious condition. When a few days had passed and the condition was not improved, I asked a practitioner to help me. My attention was called to the following verse from Psalms (91:1): "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." I worked to know that I possessed only spiritual consciousness, where love and purity abide and where no material thought can enter. I pondered carefully each sentence in "the scientific statement of being," as given on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.

When I returned to work, I was not completely healed; but I felt that that was my rightful place. My supervisor sent me to the medical department, where I was told that I must see a specialist. That afternoon, after talking with the practitioner, I went to the doctor. On my way I declared that God was the only cause and creator and that He did not know anything about an imperfect eye. The specialist at that time was unable to diagnose the trouble and advised certain remedies to reduce the inflammation.
