Emphasizing Usefulness

[Extracts from reports prepared by two branch church librarians]

Our Reading Room is on the church premises. Although it is not on the main road in our community and is not so accessible as it might he to the general public, it has been well used during the past three months. The library has been very active, and the sale of literature has increased.

Three months ago the Reading Room was furnished with several large tables of varying shapes and sizes and with an odd assortment of chairs. It seemed important for us to see the Reading Room as a loved church activity and thus not a center for unwanted surplus.

A careful investigation of all the rooms in the church building brought to light several tables which were better suited to our Reading Room than those then in use. This was brought to the notice of the executive board, which lovingly agreed to proposed changes.
