At a time when our country was...

At a time when our country was in active participation in a world conflict I was employed by an engineering corporation which had been awarded war contracts by our government. This work developed into very confining, long-hour days and demanded the utmost secrecy. Although I worked metaphysically to realize my protection while doing this type of work, yet error crept in, and I suffered a serious nervous breakdown. The help of a Christian Science practitioner was asked for, and although the healing was a slow one, it finally came.

Then several other physical difficulties presented themselves, and I found, when I was able to arise from bed, that I could not walk. Work in Christian Science was continued. Although I was compelled to use crutches for some time, I was finally completely healed, and now have full use of my legs. I have been at my occupation for over three years and have not lost a day since my return.

I thank God, from whom I have received many blessings. I have profound reverence for Jesus, our Way-shower, and love and respect for our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who has made it possible for all mankind to understand their true relationship to God. Gratitude for my healing and for the loving and faithful work of the practitioners is unbounded.—James F. Garvin, Melrose, Massachusetts.
