I wish to express my sincere...

I wish to express my sincere gratitude to God for Christian Science. It is the greatest blessing that has come into my experience. Its teachings, honestly and earnestly applied, have met our every need. It has indeed been proved to me that God is "a very present help in trouble."

As a little girl I had always had a desire to know what God is and where He is. Since my parents were not what is called religious, they felt they could not answer my questions. However, I was told that if one lived the Ten Commandments, he was doing all that was necessary. This was the best advice they could give, but as I grew up I found that one must understand the Ten Commandments to live them. In the years that followed I searched for the truth in many churches, but found no answer to my childlike questions. It was not until I came to Christian Science that they were answered, for this Science taught me how to understand the Ten Commandments and how to live them in everyday experience.

Before I took up the study of Science I was disillusioned with what I thought life to be, namely, one struggle after another, and although quite young, I became much discouraged. It seemed that the only peace I founded was in sleep and unconsciousness. After taking up the study of Christian Science, I was awakened to the true peace of mind through a right understanding of God and man.
