Terrell, Texas (Society).

On Sunday, October 30, 1949, Christian Science Society, Terrell, located at Griffith and Pacific Avenues, dedicated its church building with two services, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon.

Of interest in connection with the dedication is the following historical sketch read during the services: "In the year 1904 Christian Science had its inception in Terrell through a healing, with the result that others became interested. In 1906 the first services were held in a private home. Later a room was secured in the Carnegie Public Library for meetings, and still later in a downtown hotel. While meeting at the hotel, the organization became Christian Science Society on January 27, 1941. It became a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. It was incorporated under the laws of the state of Texas on August 4, 1941.
