After too many years of silence I...

After too many years of silence I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science. I am grateful that I am living in an age when I have the privilege of solving my problems with this truth.

I am especially grateful for the Christian Science church services on Sunday and the Wednesday testimony meetings. After becoming interested in Christian Science, I always lived in cities where there was a Science church. The war years were spent in Alaska, where my husband was in the armed forces, and we were grateful for the services of a Christian Science Society in the town in which we were living.

After the war we moved to a small, isolated village in Alaska, where there was no Science church. In fact, there were just four students of Christian Science in the whole village. Twice a month we used to gather in one of our homes for what could be called a testimony meeting. We shared experiences and helpful ways to study and gave each other help and courage to carry on. It seemed hard at times just to live in this village, let alone live harmoniously. It was like a very large, constantly quarreling family, and in order to rise above the petty bickering and gossip we were forced to do strenuous, consistent study.
