It is a truism to say that we live in a very wonderful age. We are always on the edge of new discoveries and life seems to hold an endless supply of surprises. There appears to he no limit as to what man may find and exploit.

Yet there is a limit to the significance of these things. Side by side with the progress in well-being which man has achieved, there still lurks the tiger within human nature. The recent years have proved that.
