Gratitude for the wonderful healing I experienced in the spring of 1948 through Christian Science and the desire to help others prompt me to give testimony.

Severe phlebitis and thrombosis stretching from the sole of my foot to my hip suddenly affected my leg. The malady was so severe that I immediately telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner, who assured me that she would help me at once. Because I was unable to carry out my daily duties, my daughter, a Christian Scientist, took me to her home.

By my clinging to man's perfection as the image and likeness of God, denying all beliefs of fear, and realizing the impotence of matter, my healing came about in a wonderful manner. Without medical aid or medicine I was healed within eighteen days and was able to return to my home and do my own housework. Not only was I healed of this complaint in my sixty-ninth year, but also varicose veins from which I had suffered for decades disappeared.
