Of Good Report

A Christian Science couple visiting the island of Malta earnestly desired to find others on the island interested in the same religion. An attempt to insert an advertisement in the local paper reading, "Couple desire to contact Christian Scientists," met with a rebuff, apparently due to the fact that the island is largely populated by those belonging to another denomination.

The students continued to pray regarding the situation for a week, and the wife then returned to the newspaper office, taking a copy of The Christian Science Journal and of The Christian Science Monitor with her. Apologizing for his earlier attitude, the owner of the paper readily agreed to insert the desired advertisement in the Monday and Saturday issues of his paper.

The first response came horn a woman who had lived on the island five ears and who fell certain no one else would answer the advertisement. Soon thereafter a naval officer's wife responded, followed shortly by answers from an officer and a petty officer on a vessel anchored in the harbor. A woman working in the admiralty office and another at a wireless station also got in touch with the couple who placed the advertisement.
