In the Bible we read (John 8: 31, 32), "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." This statement was proved true in my experience.

Many years ago I came into Christian Science for physical healing. At that time I was suffering from chronic asthma, a condition which I had had for a long while. At various times my husband would send me to the mountains, then again to the seashore, with the hope that a change of air would relieve me, but this was of no avail.

One day a neighbor came to my home and talked to me about Christian Science. After she left, I thought that I had not absorbed any of the truth which she voiced to me, because I was very ill. However, some weeks later, while I was at the seashore, a severe attack of asthma seemed about to overwhelm me. I thought: What shall I do? I am alone with my little daughter. Instantly the truth which was voiced to me by my friend came into my thought: You are never alone; God is always with you. The fear subsided, and the attack passed away.
