LET US RENEW OUR VISION

We require light, and more light, to see correctly. The Preacher said (Prov. 29:18), "Where there is no vision, the people perish." In dark days of materialism it is good to look up to good, rather than down at the drab and lifeless beliefs of evil. We require to renew our vision. Let us then remember that vision can be renewed spiritually and physically as we learn through Christian Science to walk humbly, wisely, and gratefully with God, divine Mind.

When we require to magnify an object, we use a lens. Materially speaking, the lens may take the form of a magnifying glass, or glasses. Spiritually understood, our lens is the Science of Christ, which magnifies God, good, and blots out evil. Mary Baker Eddy says (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 194), "The lens of Science magnifies the divine power to human sight; and we then see the supremacy of Spirit and the nothingness of matter."

The maintenance of good eyesight depends on our ability to retain clear spiritual vision. To do so we must use the lens of Science, so magnifying divine power to human view that God becomes the all-important and all-inclusive reality of our existence.
