The recent years have been for...

The recent years have been for me, as for many, ones of unfoldment and opportunity.

When the war began my two elder sons went into uniform and later the youngest enlisted. I felt this was going to be an opportunity for me to prove just how much I understood of man's relationship to God. Recognizing the boys' oneness with Mind I severed all ties of material relationship in my thinking. At first many erroneous suggestions were encountered, until a great sense of peace and comfort prevailed. When I was asked about my sons, I answered as reasonably as I could, but inwardly I never pictured them in camp or battle; I never saw them in danger or discomfort, and in this spiritualized mental state I was able to face what mortal mind would call the heaviest blow.

I was awakened at twenty minutes past five one morning by the noise of what seemed to be a plane crashing. There were plane's overhead at the time, and I went to the window and looked out, but no plane had crashed. I went back to bed thinking this over, and dreamed that I saw the plane that had crashed, and as the pilot was carried past me on a stretcher, apparently dead, I saw it was one of my sons. I looked at him and thanked God that we both knew there is no death. I awoke then, and went about my usual duties.
