From a grateful heart I offer this testimony
From a grateful heart I offer this testimony. One day when I was praying earnestly to be released from all the difficulties that seemed to enslave me, the answer came, "I am going to turn to Christian Science." My sister had owned a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures " by Mary Baker Eddy for several years, but we had not realized the great value of this book and had read it very little. I now borrowed this book, reading it every moment that I could, and started attending the Sunday and Wednesday services in a Christian Science church.
In a very short time I had a wonderful expedience, I had suffered greatly for three years from an injury to my spine caused by diving into a shallow pool and hitting my head on the bottom of the pool. This condition grew worse as time went on, causing extreme nervousness, and becoming very painful. Doctors had been unable to help me. At a Wednesday evening meeting my consciousness was so illumined by the wonderful testimonies of healing given that I glimpsed something of reality and received an instantaneous healing of this condition.
This healing gave me much hope and lifted my thought to the possibility of being healed of a seemingly greater problem. I kept at my books almost constantly and soon thereafter was led to see a consecrated Christian Science practitioner, who worked for me, and I was instantaneously healed of this difficulty also.
I have had many other healings, such as of corns, a sprained ankle, and colds, and protection from an automobile accident. I also have a greater sense of supply and am happier than I ever thought it possible to be. I am humbly grateful for the calmness and joy I have experienced while these problems were being worked out, in contrast to the fear and suffering I endured when under medical treatment.
The following expresses my gratitude for Christian Science: "Glory be to Thee, Thou God most high and nigh" (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany by Mrs. Eddy, p. 4).—(Miss) Leah Simmons, Detroit, Michigan.
