I want to express my gratitude for the many blessings I have had through Christian Science. My first healing took place when I was staying in a small town where cases of malaria were frequent during the hot season. One morning I awoke with the symptoms of this disease. I struggled against the evidence of material sense, trying to do my own work in Science, but later I was forced to go to bed.

Members of the household proposed sending for the doctor, but I asked for permission to get Christian Science help. This was granted on the condition that if the illness persisted medical care would be given. Telegrams were sent to a practitioner, and she gave me courage and replied that she would help me. The next day at noon I was completely free from fever, and a week later every symptom of disease had disappeared.

Christian Science was to me a great help during the war period. At the outbreak of hostilities I was confined in a camp and remained there for some days. I had time to ask a practitioner for help, and those days were for me a time of joyfulness and happiness instead of discomfort. Later I went with my employers to another place, where I stayed during the war.
