Mrs. Eddy's statement in the...

Mrs. Eddy's statement in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 248), "Love never loses sight of loveliness," shows that healing comes irresistibly when God's man is seen. Through the application of Christian Science I have experienced quick overcoming of a sprained ankle, elimination of a wart on the right hand which interfered with work, annihilation of false appetites for tobacco and alcohol, and improvement in character.

I had very little to do with becoming interested in Christian Science; there was no need for physical healing and I was actually opposed to any change in a material concept of things. This mental state finally was perceived as ignorance of what Christian Science is. Readiness to accept it came in God's own way in "the fullness of the time." Let God have all the credit. Freely and fully I acknowledge deep gratitude to Him and daily thank Him for the growing consciousness of His presence. My wife's steadfast loyalty in studying the Lesson-Sermon and in church attendance set an example it was impossible to disregard.

When we knew a baby was to be born, we were directed to a consecrated practitioner of Christian Science. Through the loving help my wife received, she experienced a painless birth. This showed us the need to express gratitude. As members of The Mother Church and of a branch church, opportunities to prove our appreciation of blessings received have come through serving.
