A Light Is Shining
Piercing
chaos and darkness,
Undimmed by terror and blight,
Behold, a light is shining
Over all the world tonight.
It illumines the narrow pathway,
Dispelling darkness and fear;
It sends forth in silence the message:
The glory of day is here.
The light is the Christ, revealing
The banner of promise, unfurled:
Be not afraid, I am with thee—
Behold, I am come to the world.
