Christmas Poem
"Because
there was no room for them."
Ah, but the sky had space
For that bright star, that shining gem
That showed Wisemen the place.
"Because there was no room"—still speak
Those words reproving pride;
Wherefore Truth found in manger meek
Acceptance, else denied.
Had but one inn "no room for them"?
O thought, be void of sin;
O heart, become a Bethlehem
And let the Christ come in!
