It gives me great pleasure to...
It gives me great pleasure to confirm the statements in my husband's testimony. For over fifteen years Christian Science has been a joy and comfort to me also.
While I was visiting in California one summer. Christian Science was introduced to me. My first healing occurred at this time. I was wearing glasses for severe eyestrain and could not stand very bright lights. One evening I read the Christian Science Sentinel through, and to my surprise I found that I had read without glasses. There was no pain, and the lights did not bother me. Then a great awakening came, and a joyous voice seemed to say: "You are healed! You don't need glasses any more!" True enough, and to this day I have not used them again. This instantaneous healing encouraged me to give up medicine upon which I had depended all my life. From that day to this I have never taken a drop of medicine.
Lately Christian Science has given me the greatest comfort and freedom from the medical laws regarding change of life. A practitioner led me to reason correctly on this subject by quoting James 1:17. "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." I accepted this particular time as a wonderful opportunity to obey Mrs. Eddy's injunction (Science and Health, p. 261), "Look away from the body into Truth and Love, the Principle of all happiness, harmony, and immortality." —(Mrs.) Mildred Parr Johnson, Atlanta, Georgia.
