God's Ever-presence

Many great historic characters, and countless others, have been strengthened and encouraged in times of stress by the consciousness of God's presence. In one notable instance recorded in the Bible, "the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend." It was then that Moses asked for grace that he might be shown the way. Immediate and positive was the reassuring answer, "My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest."

The study of Christian Science reveals the experience of Moses as divinely natural. Christian Science reveals, in fact, that God is the only presence, for He is All-in-all, and with His manifestation, man and the universe, constitutes the sum of all true being. Mary Baker Eddy, the beloved Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, has written in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 471), "God is infinite, therefore ever present, and there is no other power nor presence."

All mankind, therefore, is in this spiritual presence, whether aware of it or not. All can be directed in their efforts, strengthened in their endeavors, inspired and encouraged in their spiritual aspirations and the fulfillment of them, by understanding the availability and actuality of the divine presence.
