During the past eleven years I have been a student of Christian Science, and the healings and blessings which my husband, our three children, and I have derived from the application of this Science have been innumerable. We have experienced healings of many forms of disease and sin.

Among the diseases healed solely by Christian Science treatment were measles, chicken pox, colds, fever, blood poisoning resulting from a skin disease, corns, and a severe attack of ptomaine poisoning. 1 was completely healed in three weeks' time of scarlet fever. While I was in bed the first week, I had absent treatment from a Christian Science practitioner. I held to this verse in the Bible, which was most helpful: "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

I am particularly grateful for one child's healing of a tubercular bone condition, believed to be hereditary. The boxwas unable to walk or bend his leg for a period of nine weeks. During all this time I had a practitioner working for the boy and for me. I seemed to have a terrible sense of fear that the child might become crippled. I declared the truth constantly to the best of my ability, and the practitioner worked faithfully. During the first three weeks the boy had quite a lot of pain and fever; sometimes he was delirious. Then, when this was overcome, he hopped around the house, but the condition of swelling and stiffness seemed very stubborn. For six weeks we worked and prayed to know the truth, but still he was no better. I tried to be grateful that at least he was free from the fever and pain, but I still felt fearful. At this time it was suggested by a member of the family, who is not a Christian Scientist, that I have a doctor diagnose the condition or have the leg X-rayed, but I had no desire to do this. I knew that the boy would be healed when the error that was causing the fear was uncovered in my thought, and so it proved.
