A Christian Science period in the "Columbia West Coast...
A Christian Science period in the "Columbia West Coast Church of the Air" series was conducted from Station KIRO, Seattle, Washington, on Sunday morning, March 31, 1940, at eight o'clock, by M. Guy Worthing, a former First Reader of a Christian Science church. This program was radiocast under the auspices of the Committee on Publication for the State of Washington, and had the approval of The Christian Science Board of Directors. Elbert LeRoy Bellows, the soloist, was assisted by Ronald Hooper, organist.
The program was opened with the singing of Hymn No. 161 in the Christian Science Hymnal, the words of which were written by Mary Baker Eddy. Mr. Worthing then read from the Bible as follows: Luke 5:1-9, 17-26; 7:11-16; 6:13, 17, 18; 11:9, 10. And from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy: 131:26-4; 473:18-3; 275:10-19; 150:4-8, 12-17; 228:25-29; 231:30-2.
The program continued with Hymn No. 238 in the Christian Science Hymnal. Mr. Worthing then read an address substantially as follows:
