New Year! A time for checking up, a day on which a lot of emphasis is placed before it arrives, and which is usually pretty well forgotten by January 2.

In reality, New Year's Day is just another day, another unit in the ever-present now. There never was any time but now. Yesterday never was, tomorrow never will be. The Bible tells us that "now is the day of salvation," and "now are we the sons of God." The Bible teaches its readers the nowness of God's mercy, goodness, and protection. One never has to wait for God. He is ever available. Opportunity is ever existent in God's presence. One never has to await the arrival of tomorrow, or any future time, for the opportunity to do good, to manifest and reflect God.
