I wish to express my deep and sincere appreciation for Christian Science and for what it has done for me. It has been my only physician for many years.
After witnessing a beautiful healing of a so-called incurable disease experienced by a member of my family, I took up the study of Christian Science and was soon healed of nervous headaches, constipation, and hemorrhoids of many year's standing. My own healings were accomplished through the reading of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.
As I began to read, I soon learned that there is no such thing as an incurable disease. I was receptive to Christian Science. From the beginning of my study I loved it, and my heart went out in love and gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for her great revelation. It also gave me a new interest in the Bible, which had seemed to me to be a closed book.
Through the years I have been trying to put into practice the teachings of Christian Science by correcting erroneous traits of character and by giving gratitude and praise for benefits received.
I was once healed while attending a Christian Science lecture. I had been looking forward to the lecture for over a week, but when I awoke that morning, I was very ill and unable to get up. I made several attempts to arise and at last was able to do so, though with great difficulty. I went to the lecture, drank in every word that was said, and returned home entirely healed.
Recently I had a disease in my right foot which was very painful, and I walked with great difficulty. I asked help from a practitioner, which was lovingly given, and the result was complete healing, for I am most grateful.
At another time I was stricken with a malady and was covered with a rash all over my body, and could move only with the aid of my two boys. I tried to help myself, but the condition became worse, and great fear overtook me. I then had my son call a Christian Science practitioner. Work was lovingly taken up, and very soon I was restored to health. I do not know what the ailment was, because it was never named.
I am very grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, for the Christian Science periodicals, for the privilege of teaching in the Sunday school, for class instruction, for the many valuable lessons learned, and for the many friends who have helped me along the way.
