A well-educated person should have the qualities of honesty, courage, firmness, alertness, humility, intelligence, and patience. With thoughts filled with such qualities you can never be a failure, never be afraid of failure. These are the qualities that forge the golden key which unlocks and opens the door to success, health, and harmony.

As you know or understand the truth about any situation, you become its master. Fear is occasioned by the absence of a knowledge of the truth. You have devoted quite a few years to the study of the science of mathematics. You know that this science is always available to every person, no matter what his circumstance or condition may be. Do you suppose that if any group of persons were to claim that they could gather together and hoard, we shall say, all of the twos or eights, this false claim could prevent our using the science of mathematics? Certainly not! We could never be induced to believe such a foolish statement. The qualities of good are likewise ever available: they are spiritual, and so ever present. As we manifest them we learn more and more of the truth about Life, God. The question asked of Jesus by Pilate many centuries ago, "What is truth?" is the most profound question we can ask ourselves this day and every succeeding day of our lives.

In his wonderful Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." It is so often the practice of people to seek first everything of a human or material character rather than the kingdom of God, or that which is spiritual. But what and where is the kingdom of God? It is a spiritual state of consciousness, embodying all harmony, bliss, constant good; and as Jesus says, "The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you."
