Love's Purpose

I Will be still and know that God is here,
When trials come, and so present their tests
My thinking to becloud. I will not fear
Though they should seek to veil His high behests.

I will be still, and then I shall discern
The way to pierce false error's subtle guise.
As meekly 'neath Love's law to bow I learn,
The mists disperse before my waiting eyes.

I will be still, for now I clearly see
The purpose of His loving, wise design;
Thus must I gain each Christlike quality,
That true reflection be forever mine.
