[Christian Science Organization at Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island]

We are privileged, as one of the university organizations,...

We are privileged, as one of the university organizations, to have received recognition by The Mother Church during the past academic year. As an expression of our gratitude for this privilege we wish to share the experience of our growth with others.

At the beginning of the college year 1937-1938, there was an enrollment of a greater number of freshmen indicating interest in Christian Science. At a reception given for this group, preparations were made for holding services on the campus. A letter was prepared and presented to the Administration embodying the purposes of the organization, together with a list of those who would be connected with it, and the advantages of having such a campus organization. University approval was kindly accorded, and one of the finest rooms on the campus provided for our use. The first meeting on the campus was held on October 28. Application for recognition was made to The Mother Church. This recognition was granted on November 8.

Our meetings are well attended. We are grateful for the continued growth of the membership in our organization, and for the number of members who are uniting with The Mother Church. We are looking forward to our first lecture, University permission for which has already been given.
