Sincere appreciation of the testimonies given in our...

Sincere appreciation of the testimonies given in our periodicals impels me to add my song of praise. Our first contact with Christian Science came about eighteen years ago, when we were eager to have our small son attend Sunday school. Having no church interests of our own, we sent him to various Sunday schools and finally decided we should like to have him grow up with the teachings of Christian Science. We soon realized that to have him benefit from this teaching we must supplement it by home training along the same line, so my husband and I applied ourselves earnestly to learning what it was all about. From the beginning of our study of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, we knew that we had made a wise choice for our son, and felt sure that, if it was good for him, it would be good for us. How grateful we have been ever since, that Christian Science came to us when it did!

Life, so called, had been rather a pleasant, easy-going experience; but as our family grew, the years brought problems, physical, financial, and moral. The truths learned in Christian Science have been adequate to meet every need as it arose, when we honestly and sincerely applied them to reverse the error. The Apostle Paul writes in II Corinthians, "We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair." We were often "troubled on every side," but looking back over many of these experiences, I realize, with gratitude and joy, that we were never in despair, knowing that we had a very present help, and could set ourselves to work out the problem with that assurance. This made the work of rearing four boys not a distressing task, but, instead, an interesting experience.
