I am grateful for having gained a better understanding of God through Christian Science. My wife was interested in Christian Science when I married her, but I did not believe in it then. During a time when my wife was away from home I experienced a severe case of sinus trouble. I was in pain constantly, although the doctor was doing all he could for me. Finally he told me that my only relief would be to have an operation. I wrote my wife about this, and she called me by long-distance telephone, asking me to discontinue the use of medicine and to try Christian Science, which I consented to do. I was healed overnight by absent treatment, obviating the necessity of an operation, although at the time I did not give Christian Science credit for the healing.

It was not until about five years later, during the healing of an infected hand, that I became actively interested in Christian Science. It was during this healing that I decided I did not need glasses any more and have not worn them since, although I had worn glasses for years. At the same time I was healed of the smoking habit. Both of these healings came without any specific work being done for the difficulties. I have had no desire to smoke since, and am using my eyes more now, and without strain, than I did while wearing glasses.

Later I was healed of an injured wrist, a badly injured ankle, deafness in one ear, and of the suffering which resulted from my stepping on a nail. There have been numerous other healings in our home, and many instances of protection, especially while driving the car.
