Awake Thou!

A dreamer is only too glad to be awakened from an unpleasant nightmare. He is thankful to find the whole experience an illusion—a mistaken sense of things. He wastes no time bemoaning the dream experience, for the illusion is past. He is awake, and that is the end of the whole affair.

Material existence, like a dream, is a counterfeit of real being. Robert Browning has said that "life is an empty dream." and Edgar Allen Poe has declared,
