A thought that sometime I too should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science became a real desire while I was reading the testimonies in a recent Sentinel.

I had been trained to accept sickness as something God would help us to bear, if we prayed for that help; and it was in this spirit that I made some recovery from an operation for an internal trouble. The specialist, however, could not say that the recovery would be permanent, and I became very fearful of a return of the trouble.

About this time I was invited to go to a Christian Science church service, and although I was a worker in a church of another denomination, I went. I was so impressed by the mental atmosphere that I could not stay away from further services, and I began to study the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The words, "Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true" (p. 261), so struck me that when weakness and fear again assailed me, I began to try to put into practice the little which I had learned. Soon the erroneous condition left me; and although that was many years ago, the healing has been permanent.
