It is always a happy privilege to tell of the good which we receive when we gain a proper concept of God through our study of Christian Science. Like many others, I had believed that evil was as real and as powerful as good, hence as God, and in some cases more powerful. This belief has gradually given place to a knowledge that God and His creation are perfect and spiritual. And when God's omnipotence is understood, He indeed becomes a haven of security to fear-laden mortals. How comforting and natural it is to turn to our loving "Father-Mother God, all-harmonious" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 16), and find sure surcease from our human difficulties.

I have had many healings, which have given me abundant and unmistakable proof of the efficacy of Christian Science. Among these are healings of a belief in so-called germ conditions, such as athlete's foot, barber's itch, impetigo, colds, and influenza. I thank God that with an understanding of Christian Science we can rid ourselves permanently of these false beliefs which would seek to impose themselves on us. How much more pleasant it is to fill our thinking with the profitable and health-giving messages of the Christ, Truth, which rejoice the heart.

Healings of the tobacco habit, the social drink habit, and the use of profanity were further proofs to me of the accruing benefits of applying the truth about God and man. When I first took up the study of Christian Science about eight years ago, our beloved Leader's words on page 199 of Science and Health, "The devotion of thought to an honest achievement makes the achievement possible," were a great inspiration to me. In investigating this religion I did not seek healing of any ailment, but rather sought to know if there were anything in it that could confuse thought, because a dear one of my family had a confused sense of it. I soon learned, however, that it was adherence to several human philosophies and an unwillingness to give them up that caused the confusion of this dear one. I am profoundly grateful that the giving up of all mere human theories, philosophies, and doctrines for the pure Christ, Truth, which we are taught in Christian Science, pays us in terms of health, supply, peace of mind, harmonious relationships with others, and freedom from fear of disease, death, and discord of every nature.
